I was asked by many girlfriends how to do the perfect hair
bun. I make mine all the time, I buy them as gifts for friends and use them for
weddings and special events. It is so simple to do yourself. Many people use
the “sock bun” technique. I find this slips out easily. You can purchase one for about $5 and they
range from small to extra large and in blonde, brown and black. It has a
material that will help with keeping your bun looking perfect all day as well
as the perfect shape every time.

Step 1-2 |
Step 1: Brush your hair into a ponytail. (low, high, ensure
the front is the way you want it cause you’re not changing it after)
Step 2: Take your hair bun and put your ponytail hair
through it right to the hair tie. (this hair bun also allows you to roll it like a sock bun but adds extra grip with the brush like materials)
Step 3: Tilt your head slightly forward and separate your
hair evenly over the entire bun creating a hole in the

middle like a donut.
Step 4: take a second hair elastic (a smaller sized one) and
fasten it over and around the bun holding the hair in place creating a smooth
finish over the bun.
Now that you have all that extra hair hanging out you can
either wrap it around where the elastic and your scalp meet and use a couple
bobby pins to fasten it or you can do a braid and wrap it around (depending on
your hair length)
Use some of your favorite aerosol hair spray to smooth out
any frizzy parts. Or even hand cream
works great!
It might take a couple times to get it right. This technique works on all sizes and is more
secure then rolling a sock bun.
